Wooohooey!

Oh, yes, yet another blog. You're welcome.
I'm not a huge fan of LiveJournal, so I decided to come on over to Blogger for my costume blog. I'll be posting details about my costumes and their construction as well as photos here. You can follow my blog so that you can religiously live vicariously through my nonsense.

Enjoy!

Things that are coming up...

Yeah... I'm still not 100% sure I want to go this year. A couple years ago, the FNF festival organizing committee was joined with the Carnival d'Hiver people, and ever since, it's just been a big pirate festival, and really seems to have nothing to do with the celebration of the Franco-Canadian heritage. It's really quite, quite sad, and I was left with a sincere and overwhelming sense of disappointment. We'll see if I feel like going through that again this year. I would love to hang out with my friends while in 18th century costumes though. That's the best part - the only part? Prettymuch...
Isn't it strange how a year can just sneak up on you and you suddenly run out of time? I've been wanting to make myself a gold silk polonaise for over a year now; I have the fabric, but I've been so busy with finishing school, and sewing commissions, and art-making that time has just completely escaped me. I doubt I'll have time to make it for this year. I did make myself a peasant's costume all in linen though! That should be comfy and cute! (complete with basket full of fresh veggies doubling as a purse to hide my stuff)

Well, I'm sure hella not gonna miss this one! Apparently Marina Sirtis will be there, and lo and behold, I've just finished a Deanna Troi costume that was well-received at Polaris (aka Toronto Trek) this past weekend. I would LOVE to get a picture with her!!

My Deanna Troi costume

I'll also be sporting my Dark Phoenix costume, and hopefully will have time to finish my Lady Mechanika costume in time. I just bought the leather for the vest! To the work table!!! *swizzzzzzz*
